We keep things simple. You don't need an account to use this site, and we don't ask for your name or email address.
Affiliate links and cookies
When you click a link to a retailer such as Amazon, you leave our site. The retailer and its affiliate programme may set cookies to record that you arrived from ChristmasDeals.co.uk, so we can be paid a commission if you buy. Their privacy policies apply on their websites.
Book covers
Some book covers are loaded from Open Library (openlibrary.org), a free service run by the Internet Archive. Your browser connects to it to fetch the picture, so it can see your IP address, as with any website. We don't send it anything else.
AI gift finder
When you use our gift finder, the description you type is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, to suggest gift ideas. Please don't include names or other personal details. We keep the question and the ideas for up to 7 days so the same question can be answered quickly, and we count requests per visitor (using a scrambled code, not your IP address) to prevent misuse. These counts are deleted after 3 days.
Analytics
If you click Accept on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from (such as Google or Pinterest), what device they use, and which shops they click through to. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga) to recognise a returning browser. We don't use it for advertising and we can't see who you are. If you click No thanks, Google Analytics isn't loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
You can change your choice at any time with at the bottom of every page. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com.
